DigitalOcean seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for data center infrastructure across electrical, mechanical, controls/automation, and cooling systems. You will own engineering standards for AI/GPU data centers and serve as the technical authority for complex infrastructure issues.

In this hybrid role, you will manage vendor relationships, drive root-cause analyses with OEMs, conduct technical due diligence on facilities, and scale engineering

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years in mission-critical engineering, including direct data center infra experience.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams; 5+ years managing outsourced teams.
• Hands-on with liquid cooling, CDU, leak detection, UPS, gens, switchgear.
• Experience with root-cause analysis with OEMs and translating findings into actions.
• Familiar with NFPA 70E and local electrical codes; compliance collaboration with Legal/EHS.
• Due diligence on data center facilities (colocation/build-to-suit) prior to commitment.
• Proven track record scaling engineering standards across multiple sites.

Responsabilités

• Lead multidisciplinary team covering electrical, mechanical, controls/automation, and data center infrastructure engineering and construction.
• Develop and own engineering standards for AI/GPU data centers, including liquid cooling, CDU sizing, and leak detection.
• Act as technical authority for infra issues that other teams cannot resolve.
• Provide due diligence on new facilities: power, cooling topology, and expansion feasibility.
• Own vendor and OEM relationships and drive root-cause engagements for failures.
• Lead root-cause analyses and ensure engineering corrective actions are completed.
• Own infrastructure specs, documentation, and change governance with engineering sign-off.
• Partner with Site Operations, Deployment, Construction, and Design to ensure practical standards.
• Track reliability metrics and prioritize engineering investment for high-risk failures.
• Lead compliance reviews with NFPA 70E and electrical safety rules with Legal/EHS.
• Audit sites against current standards and remediate non-compliant assets.
• Manage outsourced engineering talent to keep pace with workload.
• Develop engineering talent and succession planning for key authorities.
