Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking a seasoned Infrastructure Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team across electrical, mechanical, controls/automation, and data center construction in a rapidly expanding environment.

You will own engineering standards for AI/GPU data centers, including liquid cooling, UPS, generators, and safety compliance. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with vendor management and strategic planning, in a hybrid work setting from Memphis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field.
• 10+ years in mission-critical engineering with data center infra.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams.
• 5+ years managing outsourced engineering teams.
• Deep hands-on experience with liquid cooling systems, UPS, generators, and switchgear.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E and safety codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team covering electrical, mechanical, controls/automation, and data center infrastructure.
• Develop and own engineering standards for AI/GPU data centers, including liquid cooling and power distribution.
• Serve as technical authority for infrastructure issues unresolved at lower levels.
• Provide due diligence on new colocation and build-to-suit facilities.
• Own vendor relationships with CDU, UPS, generator, switchgear manufacturers.
• Lead root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions to completion.
• Ensure governance and change management for infrastructure specs.
• Partner with Site Operations and Design to ensure practical standards.
• Track reliability metrics across the fleet and prioritize investments.
• Lead compliance reviews with NFPA 70E and other codes.
