The impact you will make:

Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for an experienced Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, to join our Corporate Communications team and help shape how we inform, connect, and engage our employees and external audiences.

With a primary focus on internal and employee communications, this role will translate company strategy, priorities, and milestones into clear, compelling communications that connect employees to our mission and the patient communities we serve. You will serve as a steward of Agios’ culture, building strong relationships and staying closely connected to teams across the company to understand what matters to employees and bring those insights into how, when, and where we communicate.

A significant part of this role is also the operational and logistical execution behind key company-wide communications and employee experiences. You will help plan and execute all-company meetings, in-person gatherings, and other important employee moments, coordinating across leaders, administrative teams, vendors, schedules, content, and logistics to ensure a seamless experience from planning through execution.

You will partner with senior leaders and teams across Agios, help evolve our internal communications channels and approach, and support corporate social media and broader digital and external communications, creating opportunities to tell the Agios story through our people, culture, science, and patient impact.

This role reports to the Senior Director, Head of Corporate Communications, and will work closely with the Human Resources team and Chief People Officer.

What you will do:

• Lead Agios’ internal communications strategy, connecting employees to our mission, strategy, business priorities, and culture.
• Own communications and end-to-end coordination for all-company meetings and other enterprise-wide moments, including messaging, executive content, presentations, employee engagement, schedules, logistics, and execution.
• Lead the planning, programming, and operational execution of all-company, in-person gatherings (up to two per year), coordinating content, executive participation, employee experience, vendors, timelines, run-of-show, and event logistics.
• Partner closely with executive and administrative teams to coordinate company-wide communications and key employee moments, ensuring seamless execution across stakeholders, schedules, content, logistics, and other operational details.
• Serve as a trusted communications partner to senior leaders and teams across Agios, providing strategic counsel and developing clear, compelling messaging.
• Translate complex scientific, business, and organizational topics into communications that are accessible, relevant, and engaging.
• Support Agios’ corporate social media presence, contributing to channel strategy, editorial planning, and content that brings our company, science, people, culture, and patient-focused mission to external audiences.
• Support broader corporate and digital communications, identifying opportunities to thoughtfully extend stories across internal and external channels.
• Collaborate across Agios and manage external communications and event partners, as needed, to deliver high-quality work and ensure effective execution.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of progressive communications experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading internal and employee communications in a complex, fast-moving organization.
• Strong operational and project management capabilities, with experience planning and executing company-wide meetings, events, or other complex employee experiences involving multiple stakeholders and logistical details.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to make complex scientific and business topics clear and engaging.
• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical communications environment and the judgment required when communicating in a regulated industry.
• Experience supporting corporate social media and digital communications, including content development, editorial planning, and channel management.
• Strong strategic and editorial instincts, paired with a willingness to be hands‑on and take work from strategy through execution.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, details, vendors, and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
• A collaborative, resourceful approach and the ability to build trusted relationships and influence across functions and levels.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in the Cambridge, Massachusetts area, with regular in-person collaboration and participation in key company meetings and activities.

Work Location:

Location Specific – Hybrid: This role requires some work onsite at our Cambridge Headquarters as needed. Hybrid schedules vary but are generally less than 3 days per week onsite. Regular conversations with manager are encouraged to ensure alignment on in-person presence/expectations. Employees in this role are expected to live within a commutable distance to the office and some travel may be required commensurate to the above job description and/or to attend team meetings and other company events.

  • The current base salary range for this position is expected to be between $131,035 and $196,553 annualized; final salary will be determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, years of relevant experience, job knowledge, skills and proficiency, degree/education, and internal comparators.
