Job summary

Agios Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Medical Director/Senior Medical Director to lead clinical development programs and pivotal trials in rare diseases. You will provide strategic medical and tactical input to Business Development, interfacing with investigators and regulators to drive NDA and filing activities.

The role requires MD or equivalent, 3–10 years in industry, and strong leadership in trial design, safety oversight, and regulatory collaboration.

Qualifications

• Medical degree required (MD or equivalent).
• Board certification/eligibility in internal medicine or pediatrics preferred.
• 3–10 years in biotech/pharma, Clinical Development or related functions.
• Experience with pharmaceutical trial design and regulatory NDA experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of Phase I–III trials for rare/orphan diseases.
• Oversee trial conduct and life-cycle management with external partners.
• Provide medical input to regulatory plans and safety meetings.
• Author/regulatory documentation and clinical study reports.
• Ensure high scientific quality and ethical compliance in all clinical work.
