Job summary

The Wonderful Company LLC in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to lead a high‑performing team and ensure accurate, timely GAAP reporting. This role emphasizes scalable processes, automation, and strong controls within a hybrid schedule (in-office Mon-Wed, remote Thu-Fri).

You will drive close processes, partner with FP&A, Tax, IT and Audits, and guide complex transactions, including 1031 exchanges, with ownership and judgment aligned to Company values.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a complex organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification (preferred).
• Experience with a major ERP system, preferably Oracle, and involvement in finance systems, automation, or AI-enabled initiatives.
• Experience working with internal and external auditors and leading cross-functional accounting/finance transformation initiatives.
• Strong technical accounting foundation including GAAP, internal controls, and financial statement analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and accountability for monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Support month-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity, timely reconciliations, and issue resolution.
• Research and document accounting treatment for complex transactions, including 1031 exchanges.
• Review financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Build and retain a high-performing accounting team with development opportunities.
• Plan capacity and prioritize workload to cover critical deliverables and process improvements.
• Champion AI adoption, automation, and emerging technologies within Corporate Accounting.
• Develop operating metrics and KPIs to monitor close performance and process health.
• Lead complex accounting matters and cross-functional initiatives with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, IT, and business units.
• Assist in year-end audit deliverables and tax filings; ensure documented procedures and backups.
