Position Overview

The Senior Manager role is a newly created position due to growth and will be a key member of the expanding Accounting & Control team. The Senior Manager’s primary job function is to provide support with bookkeeping and clerical accounting functions, with key areas of focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and client account business management. This is a “hands on” position, as the Senior Manager will be relied on heavily to maintain and update financial records and accounting databases for member companies with a high level of speed and accuracy. This role requires flexibility to work outside of core business hours as needed to meet deadlines.

As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Contract Compliance Oversight: Review complex client contracts, distill key financial and operational requirements, and ensure the Control & Accounting team adheres to all compliance obligations. Serve as a primary point of escalation for contract-related issues.
  • Vendor Payment Governance: Oversee the vendor payment process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to policy. Monitor payables, resolve discrepancies, and optimize processes to improve efficiency and vendor relationships.
  • Accrual-Based Accounting Leadership: Lead accrual-based accounting practices, ensuring proper AP and AR reconciliations. Provide guidance on complex reconciliations and review team outputs for accuracy and compliance.
  • Month-End/Quarter-End Close Management: Direct accounting processes for month-end and quarter-end close, including cash reporting, journal entry approvals, variance analysis, and coordination with the broader finance team to meet deadlines.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Daily posting of client payments and bank reconciliation.
  • Data Integrity & Systems Oversight: Ensure data integrity across all accounting systems. Oversee team’s data entry practices, identify opportunities for automation or streamlining, and implement process improvements.
  • Financial Documentation & Audit Readiness: Maintain a robust framework for organizing financial records (invoices, receipts, supporting documentation) to ensure audit readiness and compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Strategic Support & Special Projects: Partner with PPHC leadership to provide financial insight, operational guidance, and hands-on support for strategic initiatives and special projects.
  • Perform other duties as needed to achieve departmental and company-wide goals.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Sense of urgency; willingness and ability to meet and exceed established deadlines
  • Corporate accounting/finance experience
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting contracts
  • Experience with high volume AP and AR
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite; primarily Excel
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition (ASC-606)
  • High level of detail and demonstrated work output with minimal errors
  • Willingness and excitement to continually learn and develop in the role
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, and frequent customer interactions
  • Proven ability to operate with integrity and ethics, and maintain highest levels of confidentiality

What we prefer that you also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Experience with Maconomy or similar software
