Job summary

Lovin' Spoonfuls seeks a Senior Manager, Public Affairs to lead outreach, education, advocacy, and community engagement. This role informs and executes Spoonfuls’ Public Affairs Strategy, reporting to the Chief of Communications & Public Affairs, and partnering with the Senior Leadership Team to drive conversations about wasted food, food insecurity, and climate impacts.

You will build relationships with food retailers, officials, donors, and community groups, manage a small team, and help shape

Qualifications

• 5+ years at a Manager level or higher in public affairs or related field.
• Passion for food and environmental justice.
• Familiarity with legislative processes and movement-building.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with solid project management experience.
• Good judgment and deadline-driven work ethic.
• Comfort with feedback, flexibility, and hybrid work.
• People management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead outreach, education, advocacy, and community engagement work.
• Inform and execute Spoonfuls’ Public Affairs Strategy with SLT input.
• Represent Spoonfuls in community meetings, panels, and conversations.
• Develop strategies to raise awareness and opportunities to get involved.
• Manage Public Affairs calendar and ensure representation in events.
• Pitch and present to community groups, organizations, and partners.
• Collaborate with policy stakeholders and supporters to shape priorities.
