Job summary

GEICO is seeking an experienced Manager, Commercial Insurance Engineering to build high-performance applications with generative AI capabilities and lead a team focused on commercial insurance products. You will drive a technical roadmap and deliver scalable engineering solutions.

The role emphasizes performance optimization, test automation, and applying insurance domain knowledge while promoting psychological safety and continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience leading teams of 5+ engineers.
• Strong background in delivering digital web/mobile products at scale.
• Ability to prioritize and drive results based on business value.
• Fluency with Python or Java and experience with open-source software is a big plus.
• Strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
• Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proficiency in project management and work item tools like GitHub and Azure DevOps.
• Strong foundations in algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for senior leadership and technical audiences.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build/release practices.
