Job summary

Extreme Networks is seeking a Senior Manager, QA Engineering to lead the quality strategy and execution for our Cloud Networking platform. You will grow a high-performing team responsible for reliability, scalability, and security across Extreme Platform ONE, ExtremeCloud IQ, and related SaaS services.

You will partner with Development, Product Management, DevOps/SRE, and Customer Support to ensure each release meets the highest standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
10+ years of software quality engineering experience, including 4+ years in a QA leadership/people management role.
Proven experience testing cloud-based/SaaS platforms; networking domain experience preferred.
Hands-on experience building and scaling test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, PyTest, Robot Framework) and API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured).
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and microservices-based architectures.
Solid grasp of performance, load, scalability, and security testing methodologies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with track record of building globally distributed teams.
Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of QA engineers and SDETs across manual, automation, performance, and security testing disciplines.
Define and drive End to End Integration and System quality strategy, test methodology, and release quality gates for the Cloud Networking product portfolio.
Own end-to-end test planning and execution for cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS applications, including functional, regression, scalability, resiliency, and upgrade testing.
Champion a shift-left quality culture by leveraging AI, embedding automated testing, CI/CD quality gates, and observability into the lifecycle.
Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to assess release readiness, manage risk, and make data-driven go/no-go decisions.
Build and scale test automation frameworks for APIs, microservices, UI, and network device/cloud integration testing.
Establish and track quality metrics and report on quality health to senior leadership.
Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement for escaped defects and customer-impacting issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional and globally distributed teams, including outsourced QA partners.
Manage QA budget, tooling investments, and vendor relationships.
Stay current with industry best practices in cloud networking, SD-WAN, Wi‑Fi, and network access control.
