Job summary

Capital One seeks a senior Benefits Design leader to own global strategy across 10,000+ employees, designing, implementing, and governing PTO, leave, and disability programs with focus on compliance and cost efficiency.

You will partner with international teams, analyze plan metrics, manage multi-million-dollar budgets, and act as Product Owner for benefits technology solutions, leveraging AI and analytics to improve engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience in benefits design, strategy, and management.
  • At least 2 years of experience working within a matrixed environment.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience.
  • At least 2 years of process management experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience leading benefits strategy for global organizations with 10,000+ employees.
  • Experience engaging with committees and/or C-suite executives on benefits strategy, programs, and funding.
  • Deep technical expertise in U.S. self-funded health design or time off, disability, and paid leave strategy.
  • Knowledge of ERISA, ACA, tax-advantaged accounts, and carrier negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage holistic benefits and well-being strategies across U.S. and international markets
  • Lead the end-to-end vision, design, compliance, and financial management of paid time off, statutory/paid leave, and disability strategies for U.S. benefits
  • Partner with international Benefits teams to design and implement global benefits strategy
  • Evaluate global benefit structures for program harmonization, economies of scale, cultural relevance, and statutory compliance
  • Direct marketing, communication, and engagement strategies for benefits programs
  • Serve as product owner for vendor-delivered benefits technology solutions
  • Define product roadmaps and expand functionality to improve the associate experience
  • Leverage AI, data analytics, and modern delivery channels to improve efficiency, resolve issues, and personalize benefit engagement
  • Build strategic networks and manage processes, routines, communications, and shared documentation across Capital One locations
  • Manage multi-million-dollar benefits budget forecasting, cost-sharing strategies, and value-on-investment assessments
  • Analyze plan metrics, market benchmarking, and associate feedback to improve the benefits portfolio and optimize spending
  • Oversee external vendors, including consultants and third-party administrators
  • Ensure compliance with local, federal, statutory, and international regulations
  • Monitor legislative trends and market developments to mitigate risks and maintain program competitiveness

  • Ability to build consensus, influence, and collaborate
  • Comfort working in an Agile/Scaled Agile/Scrum environment
  • Work experience in Design Thinking/User Experience/Agile
  • Strong ability to analyze and tell a story with data
  • Experience leading complex projects and delivering work through others
  • Experience as a Product Owner driving business intent for an integrated technology solution and ecosystem
