Job summary

Jupiter Power LLC is seeking a Senior Manager, Performance Engineering to lead programs that improve asset performance across its battery energy storage fleet. You will own degradation modelling, capacity testing, performance analytics, and strategic asset planning, and you will serve as a technical resource to ROC, origination, market operations and asset management teams on asset health and performance.

This role can be based in Chicago, Austin or Houston and requires a minimum of three days

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical understanding of utility-scale BESS including PCS, batteries, EMS, and SCADA.
• Minimum 5 years in asset management, technical operations or asset performance analytics of energy infrastructure.
• Experience engaging with major OEMs (battery packs, inverter/PCS, EMS/controls).
• Ability to translate technical performance issues into commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet-wide capacity testing and reporting to meet OEM and off-take requirements.
• Engage with BESS OEMs for site issues and resolutions.
• Build forward-looking degradation and availability models for proactive planning.
• Improve battery balancing programs to maximize usable capacity.
• Design and implement additional tests to identify issues and track asset health.
• Enhance visibility with dashboards and stakeholder communications.
• Collaborate with ROC and field O&M on escalations and resolutions.
• Serve as a technical resource for origination, market ops and asset management.
