Job summary

HP in Spring, TX is seeking a Senior Manager Audio Engineering Team to lead a skilled group of audio experts in building HW/SW solutions for Pan-PS products. You will shape the audio strategy and steer long-term goals with senior management.

You will oversee multi-project programs, manage headcount, budgets and schedules, and collaborate with program managers, marketing and supply chain to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency while delivering innovative audio technologies.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of audio engineering experience with leadership in hardware/software.
  • Four-year or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategies.

Senior Manager Audio Engineering Team

Description -

Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing engineering leadership to a team of audio experts to build HW/SW solutions for Pan-PS products. The role acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall audio strategies and long-term goals of the organization. The role plans, manages and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of the employees, and engages with a range of stakeholders both internal and external to provide program updates ensuring alignment to the audio strategy. The role identifies opportunities to optimize processes and reduce costs, aligning changes with business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Guides the team towards establishing a vision, strategy and priorities for audio solutions, across PS PCs, docks, & display products.
  • Provides direct and ongoing leadership to individual contributors, designing audio engineering solutions and building 3-yr strategies for audio HW/SW components.
  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects and programs.
  • Ensures resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Engages with program managers, marketing, supply chain, technical leaders and executives to communicate program status, elevate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making.
  • Focuses the team to deliver on innovative audio solutions that differentiate HP in the market.
  • Leads the team thru any cross BU disagreements on solution implementation and strategy.
  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.
  • Ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources; supports negotiations and establishment of terms related to services and projects.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities, and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy.
  • Applies expert subject matter knowledge, shapes knowledge base across businesses, functions, or regions, and provides strong leadership, driving change initiatives and monitoring performance goals.
  • Performs talent and people management responsibilities including recruitment, performance management, coaching and career development.
  • Ensures that proper knowledge, performance standards and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.
Education & Experience Recommended
  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience, preferably in electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field.

The pay range for this role is $147,050 to $230,850 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
