Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Houston is seeking a Senior Manager Audio Engineering Team to lead a group of audio experts in delivering HW/SW solutions for Pan-PS products. You will guide strategic direction and align with senior management on audio goals, driving performance and cost optimization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; 10+ years of experience or 8–10 years in management.
  • Experience in electrical design, tools, and architecture of electronic hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Guides the team toward vision, strategy and priorities for audio solutions across PS PCs, docks, and display products.
  • Provides direct leadership to contributors, designing audio HW/SW solutions and 3-year strategies.
  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules and costs for multiple projects.
  • Ensures resources, budgets, timelines, and goals align with roadmaps.
  • Communicates program status to program managers, marketing, supply chain, and executives.
  • Pushes for innovative audio solutions that differentiate HP in the market.
  • Leads cross-BU alignment on solution implementation and strategy.
  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including deliverables and costs.

Senior Manager Audio Engineering Team

Description - Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing engineering leadership to a team of audio experts to build HW/SW solutions for Pan-PS products. The role acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall audio strategies and long‑term goals of the organization. The role plans, manages and monitors high‑end operational/tactical activities of the employees, and engages with a range of stakeholders both internal and external to provide program updates ensuring alignment to the audio strategy. The role identifies opportunities to optimize processes and reduce costs, aligning changes with business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Guides the team towards establishing a vision, strategy and priorities for audio solutions, across PS PCs, docks, &display products.
  • Provides direct and ongoing leadership to individual contributors, designing audio engineering solutions and building 3‑yr strategies for audio HW/SW components.
  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects and programs.
  • Ensures resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Engages with program managers, marketing, supply chain, technical leaders and executives to communicate program status, elevate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision‑making.
  • Focuses the team to deliver on innovative audio solutions that differentiate HP in the market.
  • Leads the team thru any cross BU disagreements on solution implementation and strategy.
  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.
  • Ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources; supports negotiations and establishment of terms related to services and projects.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities, and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy.
  • Applies expert subject matter knowledge, shapes knowledge base across businesses, functions, or regions, and provides strong leadership, driving change initiatives and monitoring performance goals.
  • Performs talent and people management responsibilities including recruitment, performance management, coaching and career development.
  • Ensures that proper knowledge, performance standards and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.
Education & Experience
  • Four‑year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 10+ years of job‑related experience or 8‑10 years of management experience, preferably in electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field.

The pay range for this role is $147,050 to $230,850 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
