Job summary

Bavana Partners, Houston-based leader in renewable energy, seeks a Senior Manager, Asset Management to lead the commercial and financial management of a diverse portfolio of utility-scale solar, storage and wind assets.

You will own budgets, forecasts, long-term planning, and monitor KPIs to optimize cash flow and maximize value, working with Operations, Finance and lenders while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Business or related discipline.
  • MBA, CFA or other postgraduate qualification considered advantageous.
  • 7–12+ years of experience within renewable energy asset management, project finance or utility operations.
  • Strong understanding of utility-scale renewable energy projects and operating assets.
  • Experience managing project-level financial performance and commercial agreements.
  • Excellent analytical, financial modelling and commercial skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial and financial management of a portfolio of utility-scale solar, storage and wind assets.
  • Own project-level budgets, forecasts and long-term business planning.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and cash flow.
  • Oversee compliance across PPAs, EPC, O&M, asset management, interconnection and land leases.
  • Manage relationships with utilities, off-takers and service providers.
  • Monitor plant availability, production and KPIs; improve reliability and revenue.
  • Reduce operating costs while maintaining safety and performance standards.
  • Monitor financing covenants and lender requirements; mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Finance and Treasury on portfolio performance.
  • Support Capital Markets on refinancing, acquisitions and strategic initiatives.

Our client is one of North America's leading renewable energy platforms, developing, financing, owning and operating utility-scale solar, battery energy storage and wind projects across the United States. As the company continues to expand its operating portfolio, they are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Asset Management to play a key leadership role in maximising the long-term financial and operational performance of its renewable energy assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial and financial management of a portfolio of utility-scale solar, battery storage and renewable energy assets, maximising long-term value through operational, commercial and financial optimisation.
  • Own project-level financial performance, budgets, forecasts and long-term business planning, monitoring results against operational, financial and contractual objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance profitability, optimise cash flow and improve project returns; support investment committee materials and executive reporting.
  • Oversee compliance and performance across key project agreements (PPAs, EPC, O&M, asset management, interconnection, warranties and land leases).
  • Manage commercial relationships with utilities, offtakers, service providers and project partners, including insurance claims, warranty matters and disputes where required.
  • Monitor plant availability, production and operating KPIs; develop strategies to improve reliability, energy production and revenue.
  • Reduce operating costs while maintaining safety and performance standards, leading continuous improvement across the portfolio.
  • Monitor contractual obligations and financing covenants, ensuring compliance with lender, regulatory and commercial requirements; identify and mitigate operational, commercial and financial risks.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Commercial, Development, Finance, Accounting and Treasury on portfolio performance, project reporting and lender compliance.
  • Support Capital Markets and executive leadership on refinancing, acquisitions and strategic initiatives.
Candidate Profile

The successful candidate is likely to possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
  • MBA, CFA or other relevant postgraduate qualification considered advantageous.
  • Approximately 7–12+ years of experience within renewable energy asset management, project finance, infrastructure investment or utility operations.
  • Strong understanding of utility-scale renewable energy projects and operating assets.
  • Experience managing project-level financial performance and commercial agreements.
  • Excellent analytical, financial modelling and commercial skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
