Job summary

University of Washington's Department of Comparative Medicine seeks a Manager Of Program Operations to lead the day-to-day activities of the Husbandry Operations Unit in Seattle. You will direct 45+ essential animal care staff, guide SOP development, and manage space and staffing allocations to support multiple sites while ensuring compliance with welfare standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, animal science or related.
• 4 years of experience in management of Animal Care Program with supervisory experience and AAALAC-accredited facilities.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Operations unit lead, providing direction, goal setting, and management of Operations staff.
• Writes and updates department SOPs relevant to Operations.
• Plans space allocations and staffing resources; acts as subject matter expert for housing and equipment.
• Liaises with vendors and facilities services for Operations support and project changes.
• On-call 14 days on, 14 days off, for emergencies related to operations and animal facilities.
