Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, animal science or related.
  • 4 years of experience in management of Animal Care Program with supervisory experience and management of AAALAC accredited animal care and housing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Operations staff, provide direction, and set goals for the Operations unit.
  • Manage Operations Unit revisions and improvements and oversee project management.
  • Write and update department SOPs relevant to Operations.
  • Plan and support space and staffing allocations and resource allocations in animal housing facilities.
  • Act as subject matter expert for species-specific housing and equipment and liaise with vendors and facilities services.
  • Oversee maintenance contracts and drive process improvements across the unit.
  • Provide on-call support for emergencies related to Operations and animal facilities.
