Job summary

The College of the Holy Cross seeks an Assistant Director of Class Engagement to lead alumni volunteer programs and Reunion fundraising initiatives, driving participation and philanthropic support aligned with the college mission.

You'll recruit and train class volunteers, oversee multiple class groups, coordinate with gifts teams, and manage communications and data tracking to measure outcomes across Reunion efforts and annual giving strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with strong commitment to the College’s mission and liberal arts education.
• Two years of successful advancement, fundraising, or related transferable experience preferred/required.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and engage effectively with a diverse range of constituents, colleagues, volunteers, and community members.
• Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet goals and deadlines, and work independently.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire colleagues and motivate volunteers.
• Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Positive, approachable, and collaborative demeanor, with the ability to represent the College professionally and build strong relationships with internal and external constituents.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and support alumni class volunteers, focusing on class chairs and Reunion committees.
• Oversee 15-20 non-Reunion classes and three milestone classes.
• Provide strategic guidance and resources to empower volunteers and promote participation.
• Support class programming and events and coordinate with Leadership Annual Giving.
• Design and execute annual Reunion fundraising strategies for select milestone classes.
• Identify volunteer leadership and manage timelines for Reunion gift committees.
• Contribute to development of class engagement and annual giving strategies aligned with institutional goals.
• Lead the Class Engagement team on the texting platform to drive participation.
• Monitor progress toward participation and fundraising benchmarks; prepare regular reports.
• Utilize advancement databases and digital tools to track activity and donor engagement.
• Serve as the Class Engagement team lead for Class Communication templates.
• Stay informed about best practices in alumni engagement and apply innovative approaches to volunteer management.
