College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, is seeking an Assistant Director for Leadership Annual Giving Programs. This full-time role collaborates with Leadership Giving, Communications, Alumni Relations, and Major Gifts to strengthen donor relationships and coordinate fundraising communications.

The position reports to the Director of Leadership Annual Giving and focuses on developing comprehensive leadership giving strategies, coordinating multi-channel campaigns, and recognizing donor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 1–3 years of fundraising or related experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse constituencies.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to analyze information, exercise judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends for donor visits and events.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement leadership annual giving strategies to increase participation and philanthropic support.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between Advancement and Marketing & Communications to coordinate messaging and campaigns.
  • Collaborate on multi-channel fundraising campaigns and manage cross-department projects.
  • Support annual giving initiatives such as Giving Day, year-end outreach, and donor stewardship.
  • Collaborate with the Class Engagement team on young alumni engagement and solicitation.
  • Monitor donor engagement metrics and provide recommendations to improve results.
  • Refine donor giving societies and recognition programs.
  • Partner with Advancement Services to ensure accurate donor segmentation, gifts, reporting, and tracking.
  • Stay informed on trends in annual giving and digital philanthropy to enhance program effectiveness.

As a collaborative member of the Advancement team, theAssistant/Associate Director works closely with colleagues acrossLeadership Giving, Communications, Alumni Relations, AdvancementServices, and Major Gifts to strengthen donor relationships,enhance leadership giving programs, coordinate fundraisingcommunications, and support the College's philanthropic priorities.Reporting to the Director of Leadership Annual Giving, thisposition serves as an important connector across departments,ensuring that fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and marketingefforts are aligned to maximize impact.

Job Description
Major Areas of Responsibility
  • Partner with the Director of Annual Leadership Giving todevelop and implement comprehensive leadership annual givingstrategies that increase donor participation, retention, andphilanthropic support.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between the Office of Advancementand Marketing & Communications team to coordinate leadershipannual giving messaging, campaign timelines, and communicationstrategies.
  • Collaborate on the development and execution of integrated,multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including serving as a projectmanager between the Director, the marketing team, and advancementservices.
  • Assist in the strategic planning and implementation of annualgiving initiatives, including Giving Day, fiscal year-end outreachand campaigns, parent giving, leadership giving societies, andtargeted donor outreach to strengthen relationships with donorsgiving $2,500+.
  • Collaborate with the Class Engagement team on engagement andsolicitation of young alumni
  • Monitor Holy Cross Fund and donor engagement metrics andprovide recommendations to improve fundraising results.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of donor givingsocieties, recognition programs, and leadership giving benefits tostrengthen donor engagement and retention.
  • Partner with Advancement Services to ensure accurate donorsegmentation, gift processing, reporting, and campaigntracking.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in annualgiving, donor engagement, and digital philanthropy, recommendinginnovative strategies to enhance program effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One to three years of professional experience in fundraising,advancement, higher education, nonprofit management, sales,relationship management, or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communicationskills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain meaningfulrelationships with diverse constituencies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to managemultiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze information, exercise sound judgment, andmaintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work occasional eveningsand weekends for donor visits and College events.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education advancement or nonprofitfundraising.
  • Experience managing a donor or client portfolio.
  • Familiarity with fundraising databases and CRM systems, such asEllucian CRM Advance, Blackbaud, Salesforce, or similarplatforms.
  • Experience collaborating with volunteers or volunteerleadership groups.
  • Knowledge of annual giving strategies and donor pipelinedevelopment.

Salary: The Assistant Director, Leadership Annual Giving Programsoffers a salary range of $55,000-$60,000 commensurate witheducation and experience.

Weekly Hours: 40
