The Senior Manager of Actuarial Analytics is responsible for producing pricing, forecasting, and reserving deliverables. This role involves coaching and prioritizing for direct reports and collaborating across departments to meet organizational goals.

This role serves as a technical resource and mentor within the Actuarial department. The Senior Manager must stay informed about evolving healthcare and actuarial trends, regulatory guidance, analytic techniques, methodologies, and data sources.

  • Lead commercial pricing, rate setting, rate filing, forecasting, budgeting, and risk adjustment and transfer payment estimates.
  • Conduct monthly analysis for Lines of Business and present key insights to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate across departments to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Stay updated on healthcare and actuarial trends affecting pricing and valuation.
  • Build relationships with leaders in Product, Finance, Underwriting, Regulatory, Pharmacy, CMS, and provider groups.
  • Develop staff in analytic methods, communication, project, and time management skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Science, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of healthcare actuarial experience, including Medicare Advantage pricing and bid development.
  • Experience with SQL or similar programming languages.
  • Proven project management skills in data analysis and financial projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Science, or related field.
  • Fellow or Associate in the Society of Actuaries (FSA or ASA).
  • Experience certifying Commercial Rate Filing and Medicare Advantage Bid.
  • Experience with revenue methodologies for Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Experience managing professional staff working independently on projects.

  • California: All Northern California (except Humboldt): Min: $96.35, Max: $154.05
  • California: All Southern California (except Bakersfield): Min: $85.88, Max: $137.30
  • California: Bakersfield: Min: $82.39, Max: $131.72
  • Oregon: Non-Portland Service Area: Min: $76.80, Max: $122.79
  • Oregon: Portland Service Area: Min: $82.39, Max: $131.72
  • Washington: Western (excluding Tukwila): Min: $85.88, Max: $137.30
  • Washington: Southwest (Olympia, Centralia & below): Min: $82.39, Max: $131.72
  • Washington: Tukwila: Min: $85.88, Max: $137.30
  • Washington: Eastern: Min: $73.31, Max: $117.21
