Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager of Manufacturing – Material Handling to lead a 24/7 GMP material handling team at its new state-of-the-art facility in North Carolina. You will drive organizational design, staffing, training, and compliance to ensure safe, reliable operations and successful facility startup.

You will collaborate across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Process Development to optimize material flow, inventory accuracy, and performance.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master’s with Manufacturing & Operations experience.
• Bachelor’s with extensive Manufacturing & Operations experience.
• 10+ years in Manufacturing & Operations plus 2+ years in a managerial role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a high-performing Material Handling organization.
• Champion safety, quality, and compliance culture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable operations.
• Oversee material flow, inventory control, and GMP material management.
• Lead readiness activities for facility startup and sustained manufacturing.
