Job summary

NYC Department of Social Services is seeking a Management Auditor to oversee internal and contracted audits, ensuring compliance with GAGAS and agency standards. The role involves supervising staff, reviewing reports, and performing both desk and field audits of Medicaid providers and related programs.

The position requires a strong background in auditing, with preferred credentials such as CPA or CIA, and the ability to train and guide junior auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 24 semester credits in auditing, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, law, or related fields.
• One of the following: CPA license or CIA certificate or certification in internal auditing.
• Experience in performance auditing per GAGAS is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise audit staff performing detailed cost-benefit and work simplification analyses and audits.
• Conduct first-level review of draft/final Audit Reports for compliance with state, Medicaid, and agency rules.
• Perform complex desk audits of DME and field audits of Medicaid providers for OMIG compliance.
• Resolve issues with missing or inaccurate submissions and guide management auditors.
• Participate in pre/post audit conferences and interviews with providers and OMIG.
• Conduct training for audit personnel and lead meetings to improve competency.
• Rate and evaluate job performance of staff using appropriate forms.
