Job summary

MAG is seeking a Senior Management Analyst to support MAG’s regional decision making by ensuring that technical and policy committees run smoothly, efficiently, and consistently.

You will bring structure and clarity to MAG staff about complex committee processes, guide the preparation of polished and accessible materials, and help maintain governance systems. You will also lead special projects aligned with regional priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, Political Science, Urban Planning, Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years supporting committees, public meetings, project management, or government operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with proofreading accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex workflows.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF tools.
  • Comfort learning new technology and digital systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Staff MAG policy committees, overseeing all meeting preparation, logistics, execution, and follow up.
  • Edit and publish policy committee presentation decks with WCAG accessibility in mind.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to committees with timely deliverables.
  • Manage policy committee agenda tracking and support internal planning meetings.
  • Lead technical committee appointment process.
  • Prepare and submit reports.
  • Maintain and update internal guides, manuals, and procedures.
  • Provide training on committee staffing policies and procedures.
  • Complete special projects arising from policy needs or organizational initiatives.

Your Team

MAG’s Communications Division provides strategic direction and technical expertise to support the agency’s internal communications, external outreach, public engagement, and committee management functions. The team serves as a central resource for content development, information sharing, stakeholder engagement, and committee support, advancing MAG’s work in transportation, environmental planning, and human services while ensuring clear, consistent, accessible, and legally sound communication with member agencies, partners, staff, and the public.

The Position

The Senior Management Analyst plays a key role in supporting MAG’s regional decision making by ensuring that technical and policy committees run smoothly, efficiently, and consistently. In this role, you bring structure and clarity to MAG staff about complex committee processes, guide the preparation of polished and accessible materials and help maintain the systems and procedures that support MAG’s governance work. Beyond core committee operations, you will also have opportunities to lead and deliver special projects that emerge from policy discussions, organizational priorities, and evolving regional needs, giving you the chance to contribute at a broader strategic level.

What You Will Do
  • Staff MAG policy committees, overseeing all meeting preparation, logistics, execution, and follow up.
  • Serve as editor and publisher of policy committee presentation decks ensuring accessibility guidelines are met in accordance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Provide administrative and operational support to committees, ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables.
  • Manage policy committee agenda tracking and support internal planning meetings.
  • Lead technical committee appointment process.
  • Prepare and submit reports.
  • Maintain and update internal guides, manuals and policies/procedures.
  • Provide training on committee staffing policies and procedures.
  • Complete special projects that arise from policy needs or organizational initiatives, including research, working group facilitation, gathering public input, etc.
  • Manage internal reporting processes in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

You Will Have
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Political Science, Urban Planning, Communications, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience that provides the required competencies may be considered.
  • Three or more years of experience supporting committees, public meetings, project management, government operations, or similar analytical/administrative work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with excellent proofreading and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex workflows in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with standard business software (e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF preparation tools).
  • Comfort learning new technology and digital systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and maintain confidentiality.
