Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Mammography Radiologic Technologist to collaborate with staff radiologists and perform advanced breast imaging procedures. You will mentor junior staff and students while ensuring patient safety and quality standards across facilities.

The role requires completion of an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT registration or eligibility, and an unrestricted state license. Advanced mammography certification within a year is expected; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT registration or ARRT registry eligibility requested within 90 days of employment.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Advanced certification in mammography within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Operates radiology equipment to complete imaging procedures per protocol.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Reviews images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Performs quality control procedures in line with regulatory standards.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Travels between facilities as required.
