Job summary

Centerpoint Health-Georgetown is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist in Mammography. The role entails reviewing patient history, educating patients, and performing imaging procedures with strict MQSA compliance.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, contrast administration when ordered, and maintaining imaging quality. A current radiologic licensure, ARRT Mammography certification, and BLS are required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current radiation operator licensure is required.
• ARRT Board Registration in Mammography is required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred; ARRT advanced boards in Mammography are a plus.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician orders and educate patient about procedures.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice when ordered.
• Position patient, perform imaging procedures, and monitor patient condition.
• Ensure MQSA compliance and maintain ACR & MQSA accreditations.
• Enter and report scan results; manage equipment safety and quality control.
• Support staff scheduling to cover patient volumes.

Job description

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday | 7:30a - 5:30p

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• May assist physician with performing interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.Participates in ensuring compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations and applicable accreditations.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s), biopsies, stereotactic and special procedures.
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
• Keeps current with BiRad and follow-ups on all patients.
• Maintains ACR & MQSA accreditations, participates in the surveys, completes the renewal packets and image submissions.
• Will assure daily work schedule for staff is adequately covered for patient volumes.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a current radiation operators licensure required. Additional requirements include:

• Education: Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Required
• Licenses: State Radiation Operator License: ARRT Board Registered in Mammography - Required; Bachelor's degree - Preferred; ARRT (advanced boards in Mammography)
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
