Job summary

Centerpoint Health-Georgetown is seeking a Senior Mammography Technician to support our imaging department in Georgetown, KY. You will review orders, educate patients, and perform imaging with emphasis on safety and quality. You may assist with interventional procedures and administer contrast within scope.

Responsibilities include equipment prep, QA, exposure selection, and maintaining MQSA accreditation. You will ensure coverage for daily schedules and accurate report transmission,

Qualifications

• Education required: Graduate of a Program in Discipline.
• Licenses: State Radiation Operator License and ARRT Board Registered in Mammography; ARRT advanced boards in Mammography; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports changes as appropriate.
• Assists physician with interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs quality control on equipment.
• Troubleshoots and reports equipment malfunctions.
• Ensures MQSA compliance and accreditations.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures, biopsies, stereotactic and special procedures.
• Analyzes results and resolves image quality issues.
• Takes action to resolve image quality issues and repeats procedures when needed.
• Enters and reports scan results.
• Keeps current with BiRad and follow-ups on all patients.
• Maintains MQSA and related accreditations and renewal packets.
• Ensures daily staff schedule coverage for patient volumes.

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday | 7:30a - 5:30p

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.

• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.

• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
• Keeps current with BiRad and follow-ups on all patients.
• Maintains ACR & MQSA accreditations, participates in the surveys, completes the renewal packets and image submissions.
• Will assure daily work schedule for staff is adequately covered for patient volumes.
