Job summary

AnaVation is seeking a Malware Reverse Engineer to support National Security missions. This full-time, on-site role is based in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, and requires U.S. citizenship with an active clearance.

You will perform surface, dynamic, static and automated analysis of malware, reverse-engineer binaries, and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders while collaborating with intelligence professionals to interpret threat actor intent.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with SCI within last 2 years.
• Full-time on-site in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.
• 4+ years in a Reverse Engineering role.
• 4+ years with C/C++ and Python.
• 4+ years with architecture, OS internals, file system/memory management, and assembly (x64/ARM/MIPS).
• Proficient with static and dynamic reverse engineering techniques.
• Experience with RE tools: IDA Pro, Ghidra, Hopper, Binary Ninja, Frida, PE Explorer, objdump.
• Familiar with dynamic malware analysis tools and Wireshark.
• Able to write detailed technical reports and present findings.
• Familiar with MITRE ATT&CK, IOCs, CVEs; threat intel standards (STIX/TAXII, MISP).

Responsibilities

• Perform surface, dynamic, static, manual and automated malware analysis to determine nature and impact.
• Reverse-engineer compiled code to understand interactions and behavior.
• Evaluate malware capabilities and threat potential for intelligence purposes.
• Prepare detailed reports and brief stakeholders on findings.
• Collaborate with intelligence professionals to interpret threat intentions and capabilities.
• Provide technical expertise on hardware/software environments for malware triage and analysis.
