Job summary

Set of X is seeking a senior malware analyst to reverse-engineer malware and APTs, uncover functionality, and develop detection tools. You will work with intelligence analysts, software developers, and cybersecurity teams to strengthen security posture and produce detailed reports for federal partners.

Required are strong reverse engineering, malware analysis, and cybersecurity skills, with expertise in C/C++, assembly, Python, and debugging tools.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in reverse engineering, malware analysis, and cybersecurity.
• Proficiency with assembly, C/C++, Python, and scripting languages for analysis automation.
• Experience with disassembly and debugging tools (e.g., IDA Pro, Ghidra, Radare2, OllyDbg, WinDbg).
• Familiarity with operating systems internals (Windows, Linux, macOS).
• Knowledge of networking protocols, encryption, and exploit development is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, dissect, and reverse-engineer malware and APTs to uncover functionality.
• Identify vulnerabilities and exploits across software, hardware, and network systems.
• Develop tools and scripts to enhance malware analysis and threat detection capabilities.
• Document findings clearly and produce detailed technical reports for internal teams and federal partners.
• Support incident response and forensic investigations as needed to protect critical systems.
