Job summary

Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA is seeking a Senior Advancement Officer to engage alumni, parents, and friends, aligning philanthropic interests with Dickinson’s priorities. You will cultivate relationships, identify donor passions, and develop strategies to secure gifts up to seven figures while stewarding major donors over time.

Responsibilities include managing a 125-135 prospect portfolio, collaborating with colleagues on the major gift team, and supporting donor engagement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with prospective donors through effective one-on-one engagement.
• Advanced verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with ability to manage multiple prospects.
• Strong strategic thinking, including donor cultivation and solicitation planning.
• Analytical skills to assess donor interests, giving capacity, and engagement opportunities.
• Ability to travel regularly for donor visits, events, and college functions.

Responsibilities

• Solicit gifts of $100,000 or more from alumni, parents and friends.
• Manage a portfolio of 125-135 prospects, keeping data current and organized.
• Collaborate with major gift team and campus partners to meet department goals.
• Staff events and support other gift officers in donor identification, cultivation, and solicitation.
• Lead or support special fundraising initiatives in donor-aligned affinity areas as approved.
