Job summary

YMCA of Southwest Florida seeks a maintenance technician to perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repairs on facilities and mechanical equipment. The role includes repairing building components, electrical and plumbing fixtures, and assisting with renovations, while upholding safety and cleaning protocols.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 2–3 years of maintenance experience, with background checks and compliance with the association's policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of building and mechanical maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and carpentry.
• Background checks and safety protocols compliance.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor and major repair of buildings and equipment.
• Replaces broken windows; repairs doors, locks; installs window blinds.
• Installs flooring of all types.
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures including toilets, sinks, and urinals.
• Installs electrical wiring and equipment; replace and repair lighting fixtures and ballast.
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
• Assists with renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; interior and exterior painting.
• Upholds safety requirements including cleaning protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.
