Job summary

Ardent Mills in Ayer, MA is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to troubleshoot, fix, and maintain plant equipment. You will support preventative maintenance planning and lead maintenance projects while training other technicians.

The role requires 5+ years in maintenance in a manufacturing setting, strong PLC/VFD knowledge, CMMS experience, and a focus on food safety and HACCP. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in Maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
• Demonstrate proficiency in advanced-level technical competencies (PLCs, VFDs, troubleshooting).
• Demonstrated ability to delegate and mentor others.
• Knowledge of food safety requirements and HACCP.
• Working knowledge of maintenance processes, CMMS, equipment documentation, predictive maintenance, root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks per work orders.
• Understand how to work safely and speak up when you do not.
• Continue to learn new skills and grow in maintenance expertise.
• Train other Maintenance and Reliability Technicians.
• Provide technical input on job plans, preventive maintenance tasks, equipment history, and follow-up work.
• Use the CMMS to review, update, complete, and document work orders.
• Identify parts, materials, tools, safety considerations, and labor needs for safe maintenance.
