Job summary

Sumitomo Drive Technologies USA is seeking a maintenance technician to service CNC and manual machinery in a high-volume manufacturing environment in Chesapeake, VA. You will execute preventive maintenance, diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues, and support facility and safety standards while coordinating with outside vendors.

Applicants should have 5+ years in maintenance of manufacturing equipment, solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical and control systems, and be capable of

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associates preferred.
• At least 5 years maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing manual and CNC equipment.
• Solid mechanical, electrical and control systems knowledge.
• Experience with rigging, welding, fabrication, plumbing and electrical installations.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair CNC and manual machines and related equipment.
• Maintain and repair assembly equipment and conveyors.
• Perform preventive maintenance and TPM for machine tools.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in manufacturing areas.
• Lead upkeep of facility/grounds and supervise outside contractors as needed.
• Train others on trades and equipment; support process improvements.
