Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a skilled maintenance technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment. Tasks include carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, and welding, using blueprints and hand/power tools. May train other staff and must work in compliance with procedures.

Responsibilities include maintaining facilities, repairing appliances, operating boilers and chillers, estimating costs, and driving to other locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required; trade license may be required.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in maintenance trades.
• Experience with painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair facilities and properties; fix minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry issues.
• Paint structures and equipment as needed; document installations and repairs.
• Repair appliances and equipment; operate boilers, chillers, motors, pumps.
• Review maintenance records; plan corrective maintenance; may train others.
• Follow safety procedures and travel to other locations as needed.
