Job summary

First Solar is seeking an experienced maintenance technician in Trinity, AL to perform facility, equipment, and grounds maintenance in a safe, timely, and cost-efficient manner. You will read schematics, troubleshoot electronics, and mentor junior technicians while documenting work in CMMS and supporting shift leadership.

Responsibilities include solving complex electro/mechanical issues, following safety standards, and participating in preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Basic understanding of SPC and process control techniques.
• Project leadership and supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to read prints and suggest modifications as required.
• Proven electro/mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, vacuum systems and laser operations.
• Knowledge of building codes.

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment and troubleshoot to enable efficient operation.
• Mentor junior technicians in on-site service and repair of process equipment.
• Assist in evaluating and certifying junior technicians for promotions and training.
• Set an example in troubleshooting and servicing all energy sources and maintain preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with other departments and vendors.
• Follow OSHA, EPA and company safe practices on all tasks.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Train maintenance technicians and document work in CMMS.
• Attend shift handovers to communicate ongoing work updates.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
• Substitute for Lead when needed and assist Equipment Engineer with projects.
