Job description

Shift: Friday to Monday from 06:00 PM to 06:30 AM (8 to 12 hours per day)

Pay Range: $25 to $30

The position is with a biotechnology product development services client that supplies laboratory equipment, chemicals, supplies, and services essential in healthcare, scientific research, safety, and education.

Summary

The position will support maintenance and production operations by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring optimal machine performance in a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting skills along with the ability to work in a fast‑paced cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with safety and cGMP standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities on production equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical production issues.
  • Perform tooling changes, machine setups, and process adjustments as needed.
  • Rebuild, calibrate, and configure sealing components and machine controls.
  • Document machine downtime, repairs, and critical process control information accurately.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC systems, boilers, generators, and electrical systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and equipment installation projects.
  • Test and verify equipment performance to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Maintain, repair, and rebuild production machinery and equipment.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, cGMP requirements, and cleanroom procedures.
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, production, laboratory, or related environments.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced cleanroom environment for extended shifts.
  • Understanding of PPE usage and chemical hygiene practices.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing industrial process control equipment.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, reed switches, valves, relays, solenoids, and temperature controllers.
  • Experience in cGMP or Lean manufacturing environments.
  • Prior experience with equipment installation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Controlled cleanroom environment with regulated temperature and humidity.
  • Required use of PPE including gloves, hair/beard covers, face coverings, and safety glasses.
  • Ability to stand and work for 8–12 hour shifts with overtime as needed.
