Job Description
The Lead Maintenance Technician should possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a journeyman’s understanding of modern industrial electrical control systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Responsibilities include the servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical, mechanical, and control devices associated with the airport's Baggage Handling Systems, Passenger Boarding Bridges, Ground Power Systems, Pre-Conditioned Air Systems, and Potable Water Systems.
The successful candidate shall be able to:
- Maintain and repair all types of HVAC systems and associated components.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as pre-condition air units, rooftop units, passenger loading bridges/gate services using diagrams, sketches, operational manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications with hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments.
- Perform brazing, soldering, pipefitting, welding, and fabrication.
- Inspect, monitor, repair, maintain, and operate mechanical systems, motors, compressors, pumps, fans, ducts, pipes, thermostats, and switches.
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC, glycol, hot water, and steam distribution equipment to optimize performance and energy efficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, electrical, and hydraulic schematics.
- Read, interpret, and modify PLC Rung Ladder Diagrams and manage PLC programs and Human Machine Interface (HMI) configurations.
- Install and program Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and other automation devices.
- Maintain and repair Automatic Tag Readers (ATR) and barcode reading equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration equipment and 400 Hz ground power systems.
- Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, hydronic, and plumbing subsystems.
Required duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform preventive maintenance according to OEM specifications.
- Monitor equipment operation logs and perform corrective actions as needed.
- Perform operations and maintenance safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and clients.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or vocational training in electrical, mechanical, or refrigeration courses.
- Four (4) years of electrician’s apprenticeship or relevant experience.
- CFC Universal Certification.

Salary: $35.54 per hour
Expected Hours: 40 per week
Schedule: 8-hour shift
