Job summary

Omada Search client is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep chemical processing equipment running safely and efficiently in a manufacturing setting. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical aptitude, sharp troubleshooting skills, and a real commitment to safety and quality.

You will perform routine maintenance on pumps, valves, reactors, and distillation units; diagnose malfunctions; document activities; and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training or certification in chemical maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5–6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or processing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on chemical processing equipment, including pumps, valves, reactors, and distillation units.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions, leaks, and other issues and resolve them quickly to minimize downtime.
• Follow all safety protocols when handling hazardous chemicals, maintaining equipment, and completing repairs.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment modifications in line with regulatory requirements.
• Respond to emergencies such as chemical spills, leaks, or equipment failures and help contain risks to people and the environment.
• Monitor chemical inventory and spare parts, and coordinate with procurement to keep supplies stocked.
• Train and support operators and maintenance staff on equipment operation, safety procedures, and maintenance best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency, and cost savings, and partner with engineering to implement improvements.

What You'll Do

What You Bring

• 5 to 6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or processing environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processing equipment; experience with pumps, valves, and piping for liquid transport preferred
• Intermediate knowledge of pipe fitting, carpentry, welding, and electrical and mechanical systems
• Working knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, and OSHA regulations
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Clear verbal and written communication with colleagues, vendors, and contractors
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work non-standard hours and overtime and to respond to emergencies

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical training or certification in chemical maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred

Physical Requirements

• Time split between an office setting and the chemical and shipping warehouse; safety gear and PPE required when appropriate
• Walking between departments, using stairs, and climbing ladders
• Bending, crouching, squatting, and kneeling
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs unassisted
• Extended periods of sitting and computer work
