Qualifications

• Expertise in mechanical seal installation, pump troubleshooting, and valve repair.
• Proficiency in pipe threading and manual tool operation.
• Ability to read P&IDs and equipment manuals.
• Safety: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) mastery and adherence to site safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete teardowns, overhauls, and replacements of pumps (centrifugal, positive displacement, diaphragm).
• Replace mechanical seals and ensure environmental controls and seal plans prevent leaks.
• Execute precision alignment on pump-to-motor couplings to meet tolerances.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace actuated/manual valves and diagnose actuator issues.
• Pipefit and fabricate carbon/stainless piping for process/utility lines.
• Execute standardized lubrication programs per SAP schedules.
• Manage SAP Work Orders: log hours and provide detailed closing comments.
• Support PdM with vibration data collection and IR thermography scans.
• Maintain steam tracing lines and troubleshoot heat trace circuits.

Working Status: Full time

Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm (some overtime expected)

Our facility is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliability and safety of our chemical processing units. This role is focused on eliminating downtime through the execution of precision PMs, calibrations, and detailed inspections while maintaining strict ISO standards. You will operate in a data-driven environment, utilizing SAP as the primary CMMS to manage work orders, document technical findings, and track equipment history.

Requirements

• Pump Maintenance & Repair: Perform complete teardowns, overhauls, and replacements of centrifugal, positive displacement, and diaphragm pumps.
• Mechanical Seal Replacement: Expertly remove and install mechanical seals (single, double, and cartridge types). Ensure proper environmental controls and seal plans are functioning to prevent process leaks.
• Precision Alignment: Execute precision alignment on pump-to-motor couplings to meet strict tolerances, ensuring extended bearing and seal life.
• Valves & Controls: Troubleshoot, repair, and replace both actuated and manual valves. This includes diagnosing pneumatic/electric actuator issues and ensuring proper seating and flow control for process integrity.
• Pipefitting & Fabrication: Measure, cut, and thread carbon and stainless steel piping for process and utility lines.
• Equipment Lubrication: Execute standardized lubrication programs based on SAP-generated schedules, ensuring the correct lubricant and volume are applied to high-speed rotating equipment.

Heat Trace Systems

• Steam: Maintain steam tracing lines and perform scheduled audits on steam traps to ensure efficient heat transfer.
• Electric: Troubleshoot electrical heat trace circuits and controllers to prevent process line freezing or crystallization.

Preventive (PM) & Predictive (PdM) Maintenance

• SAP Work Order Management: Receive assignments, log actual hours, and provide detailed technical closing comments on all PM/PdM activities within the SAP system.
• Downtime Elimination: Minimize unplanned outages through rigorous inspections, precision calibrations, and high-standard PM execution that aligns with ISO compliance.
• PdM Integration: Support predictive initiatives by performing vibration data collection and infrared (IR) thermography scans on pumps and heat trace systems to identify equipment issues before they cause downtime.

Basic Qualifications

• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a chemical, refinery, or heavy industrial environment.
• Proven expertise in mechanical seal installation, pump troubleshooting, and valve repair.
• Proficiency in pipe threading and manual tool operation.
• Ability to read P&IDs and equipment manuals.
• Safety: Mastery of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and adherence to all site safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrical: Previous experience with 3-phase motors and related industrial equipment is a significant plus.
• SAP CMMS: Experience using SAP for maintenance documentation is a plus.
• Welding: Basic welding (TIG/Stick) is a plus but not required.
• Steam Systems: Familiarity with the operation of various steam traps and a basic understanding of thermodynamics as it relates to heat transfer and fluid flow.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders/scaffolding, and wear required PPE.
• Willingness to work in outdoor conditions and participate in an on-call rotation.
