Job summary

Schaefer Plastics North America, LLC. seeks a Maintenance Technician III i to lead advanced troubleshooting and repair of injection molding systems in our Charlotte facility.

The role demands high-level electrical/hydraulic/mechanical expertise and the ability to read schematics, mentor technicians, and improve equipment reliability. Responsibilities include diagnostics, preventive/predictive maintenance, root-cause analysis, and documenting work in CMMS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong injection molding maintenance experience preferred.
• Technical school or maintenance certification or apprenticeship a plus.
• Experience with hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, robotics, controls, and CMMS strongly preferred.
• Prior experience as a senior technician, lead technician, trainer, or SME is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of injection molding machines, robotics, automation, and related systems.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and control system issues.
• Read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, motors, drives, sensors, and safety circuits.
• Lead root-cause analysis for major equipment breakdowns and recurring issues.
• Document repairs, parts used, and follow-up needs in the CMMS.
• Assist with mold changes, start-ups, and complex production support issues.
• Mentor Tier I/II technicians and provide technical guidance.
