Job summary

Doyon Utilities is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the Fort Wainwright Central Heat and Power Plant (CHPP) in Fairbanks, Alaska. The role oversees CHPP maintenance, coordinates E&I, Mechanical, and Material Handler activities, and ensures safe, reliable operations while aligning with the CHPP Director and plant engineer.

Ideal candidates have an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, 5+ years in industrial maintenance management, 3+ years supervisory experience, and

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent
• 5+ years managing industrial maintenance operations
• 3 years supervisory experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with CMMS software (Maximo preferred)
• Fundamental understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance concepts
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and work in varied positions
• Ability to work with little supervision and follow instructions

Responsibilities

• Supervise all aspects of the CHPP maintenance department and provide direction to plant work leaders and personnel
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of E&I, Mechanical, and Material Handler groups for safe, efficient operations
• Provide counseling for work leaders regarding disciplinary issues of maintenance employees
• Oversee CMMS and review all work orders prior to closure
• Coordinate maintenance scheduling and implement a reliability-based management program
• Ensure SOPs are up-to-date and conduct quality control inspections
• Ensure maintenance is performed in a safe, economical manner
• Maintain reliable maintenance records for performance metrics and history
• Assist in annual budget preparation and capital project development with CHPP Director
• Guide work leaders to schedule time off to minimize overtime
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with contracts and safety standards
• Conduct periodic audits and inspections for material accountability
• Ensure adherence to Doyon Utilities policies and procedures
• Collaborate with plant engineer on condition assessment program
• Learn, adopt, and apply safety programs
