Job summary

Doyon Utilities is seeking aMaintenance Supervisor for the Fort Wainwright Central Heat and Power Plant (CHPP) in Alaska. The role oversees maintenance operations, directs plant work leaders, and aligns safety, reliability, and efficiency goals.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in the management of an industrial maintenance operation.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with CMMS software (Maximo, preferred).
• Fundamental understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance programs and concepts.
• Sufficient physical strength to perform all duties and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Basic understanding of process controls.
• Ability to lift and move in awkward positions as needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and staff.
• Willingness to report to work at any hour.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all aspects of the CHPP maintenance department and direct plant leaders and personnel.
• Coordinate activities of E&I, Mechanical, and Material Handler groups for safe, efficient operations.
• Provide counseling for disciplinary issues of maintenance employees.
• Oversee CMMS usage and review all work orders before closure.
• Coordinate maintenance scheduling and implement reliability-based management program.
• Ensure SOPs are up-to-date and conduct quality control inspections.
• Maintain maintenance records and document performance metrics.
• Participate in annual budget preparation and capital projects with CHPP Director.
• Guide work leaders to schedule time off and minimize overtime.
• Observe contractor activities to ensure compliance with contract and safety standards.
• Perform periodic audits for accountability of materials.
• Ensure adherence to Doyon Utilities policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with plant engineer on condition assessment program.
• Learn and apply safety programs.
