Job summary

Human Resource Development and Employment, Inc. (HRDE) in Charleston, WV is seeking a Maintenance professional for a full-time role at 35 hours per week. You will oversee maintenance tasks, perform repairs, and ensure safety and comfort for tenants.

The responsibilities include HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and preventive maintenance across rental units and common areas. A WV refrigerant certification and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and five years of maintenance experience.
• At least two years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to work with disabled and elderly persons.
• Basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, heating/cooling, and carpentry.
• State of West Virginia refrigerant certification.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Must reside within 20 miles of the housing project and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems and building components.
• Repair mechanical equipment and building components as needed.
• Perform plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and electrical tasks in common areas and units.
• Maintain smoke detectors and replace light bulbs in units and common areas.
• Repair windows, doors, drawers, cabinets, etc.
• Maintain HVAC units and refrigerant systems and perform related repairs.
• Clean and maintain rental apartments and common areas, including trash removal and grounds upkeep.
• Perform other maintenance tasks as requested for the apartment complex.
