Job summary

City of Durham is seeking a SR Maintenance Specialist in the Water Management Division. The role focuses on preventative and corrective maintenance of pumps, motors, gearboxes and related equipment at lift stations and other facilities.

You will lead maintenance tasks, inspect equipment for safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinate staff to ensure timely, accurate work orders and reporting. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and four years of lift station experience,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of technical training.
• Four years of Lift Station experience.
• Valid, unrestricted NC driver’s license with requirement to obtain NC license if from another state within 60 days.
• Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement required within six months for wastewater treatment.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance on pumps, motors, gearboxes and related equipment.
• Inspects and tests equipment for safety and regulatory compliance; maintains logs and records.
• Assigns, inspects, and trains staff; oversees work quality and safety procedures.
