Qualifications

• Two years of general facility maintenance experience.
• Reading, verbal and written communication skills expected; high school education or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensures maintenance schedules are followed for the assigned shift or area.
• Reports all accidents/incidents to supervisor.
• Coordinates daily maintenance services with nursing staff during routine tasks.
• Attends departmental and staff meetings as directed.
• Performs tasks according to daily work assignments.
• Follows established fire safety policies and procedures.
• Follows all safety procedures when performing maintenance services.
• Maintains general plant and facility in good repair for resident comfort and safety.
• Keeps work areas free of hazards; reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Ensures areas and equipment are properly stored after use.
• Uses appropriate PPE when handling infectious materials.
• Disposes of refuse daily per sanitation procedures.
• Keeps supervisor informed of supply needs.
• Assists with maintenance to ensure resident comfort and convenience.
• Reports equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Assists others in lifting heavy items when needed.
• Performs routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, etc.
• Performs repairs on plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical as directed.
• Serves heating/cooling units per manufacturer and policy.
