Job summary

ADUSA Distribution in South Portland, ME is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic A to perform maintenance tasks on facilities and equipment across our distribution site. The role requires skilled electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, or welding capabilities and the ability to execute work orders with accuracy and safety.

You will enter work data in CMMS, train and guide Mechanic B staff, and contribute to proactive maintenance programs to keep operations running smoothly in a high-demand warehouse

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Assessment evaluation to demonstrate experience.
• Good communication, verbal and written skills.
• Dexterity with both hands.
• Knowledge of schematic/blueprint documents.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in varied temperatures from -5 to 90+ F.
• Ability to understand written and numeric product identifiers.
• Team player and able to work independently.
• Must supply own tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment and facilities operate safely and efficiently.
• Learn and perform duties with training and job shadowing.
• Record work in the CMMS and review past repairs.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment.
• Proficient in preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Safely shut down systems and meet all standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
• Evaluate work quality and proficiency.
• Provide guidance to Mechanic B and support staff.
• Stay current with maintenance tech and training.
• Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the work area.
