Job summary

State of Florida Department of Management Services in Tampa, FL seeks a Senior Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, repair, and operate complex mechanical systems across multiple facilities. You will handle pumps, boilers, AHUs, VFDs, and hydronic systems, ensuring occupant comfort and safety in BAS-controlled environments.

The role requires working knowledge of blueprints, preventive maintenance, and coordination with Control staff; travel and after-hours availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Three years of recent commercial HVAC experience.
• Two years of maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing or electrical or mechanical equipment.
• HVAC certification and EPA 608 Universal Certification.
• Boiler Certification and driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair pumps, boilers, AHUs, VFDs, VAVs, chillers, and related systems.
• Coordinate with Operations Control and document changes for building controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks weekly and report time and materials.
• On-call and travel to multiple state facilities as needed.
