Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products in Mississippi is seeking a Maintenance Team Lead to safely perform emergency and preventive repairs on plant machinery and infrastructure. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems and coordinate with production leadership to minimize downtime.

You will manage maintenance tasks, ensure safe lockout/tagout practices, and collaborate with Quality Control to meet production goals while maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Technology diploma, trade certification, or 5+ years as Industrial Mechanic or Electrician.
• PLC and basic drives experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
• Proficient communication skills – ability to explain complex electrical issues.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work (lifting, bending, standing for long periods).

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Respond to production supervisor during emergencies to minimize downtime.
• Clean up maintenance and work areas after repairs.
• Safely use company equipment; implement Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
• Monitor and inventory maintenance supplies; order replenishment.
• Enter and complete work orders in the Work Order system.
• Communicate daily with Production and Quality Control to solve issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
