Job summary

Chemtech Plastics, Inc., an industry-leading precision injection molding company, is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician on 1st shift in Elgin, IL. You will lead a small maintenance team and perform hands-on troubleshooting of molding machines and automation systems.

The role requires five years of experience in plastic injection molding maintenance, strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic skills, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a plastic injection molding environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot advanced equipment and read schematics.
• Ability to communicate with equipment manufacturers and technical support.
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small maintenance team and prioritize work safely.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair injection molding machines and related equipment.
• Read electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
• Coordinate with other departments to minimize downtime.
• Ensure documentation of maintenance activities.
• Keep a clean and safe work environment.
