Job summary

Greif, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift in Illinois to keep injection molding machinery reliable through preventive maintenance and rapid repairs. The role requires hands-on mechanical, electrical, PLC and hydraulic skills, plus read-and-interpretation of drawings and work orders.

You will work with a team to fix issues, calibrate systems, and ensure safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical training plus 3–5 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and work orders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and safe, proactive communication with team.

Responsibilities

• Ensures reliability of machinery by performing preventive maintenance on injection molding equipment.
• Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using appropriate tools.
• Reads manuals and schematics to diagnose issues and implement repairs.
• Assembles, installs, calibrates equipment; dismantles and replaces parts as needed.
• Adheres to plant safety policies and supports Lean Manufacturing programs.
• Mentors junior maintenance colleagues and supports operations as required.
