Job summary

UNC Charlotte Marriott on the UNC Charlotte campus is seeking a Maintenance Engineer 2 to keep our 226-room hotel and 24,000 sq ft of meeting space running smoothly. You’ll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facilities to support guest comfort and service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus two years or its equivalent in trade school or training in building maintenance/construction.
• Minimum four years experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry or building maintenance.
• Basic knowledge in plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC, electrical systems, boilers, and related facilities.
• Must be able to read written communications, meters, and operate basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry a portable radio and respond to engineering service calls with guest requests prioritized.
• Perform maintenance and repairs in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC.
• Perform all essential functions of Maintenance Technician 1.
• Respond to guest requests in a courteous, safe manner.
• Complete preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment including kitchen, laundry, boiler, pool, HVAC, and guest rooms.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance programs and work orders.
