Job summary

CGL Facility Management, LLC, based at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail in Williamsburg, VA, seeks a Chief Maintenance Engineer to lead maintenance activities and staff. You will be the technical spokesperson in client meetings and oversee work orders, safety compliance, and records.

The CME spends up to 80% of time performing work orders, interfaces with subcontractors, and ensures contract requirements and OSHA standards are met. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years skilled maintenance or commercial experience.
• Able to read blueprints and as-built drawings.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Familiar with CMMS and safety regulations (OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Review requests and prioritize workloads daily.
• Assign tasks and monitor progress of staff.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, gas, life safety and security systems.
• Conduct facility inspections to meet safety standards.
• Maintain documentation in CMMS and generate reports.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and coordinate with regional management.
